Louisville Ju Jitsu is a branch dojo of the Niseido Ju Jitsu Federation. The club facilitator is Jim Mahanes, Nikyu (second degree brown belt). Jim received all but his first rank (Yellow Belt) directly from the Niseido Ju Jitsu founder and Grandmaster, Professor Rick Riccardi.
Jim began his training at the BSK Niseido Ju Jitsu Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee in 2000, under the direction of Niseido Sensei Lane Wommack, Shodan (first degree black belt). While the Louisville dojo answers directly to Professor Riccardi and the hombu (home) dojo, Sensei Wommack currently oversees all testing and quality control of the Louisville dojo.
Classes take place on Saturday mornings from 8-10:15 a.m., and Monday nights from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Beuchel Park Baptist Church. While new students are always welcome, you will be asked to come and watch several classes before being asked to participate. This ensures that you are able to put in the required time and that Niseido is the right art for you (because it's not for everybody). Please call (502) 426-6322, or e-mail us.
